In contrast, Milei, a libertarian and far-right figure, has criticized global climate policies, dismissed state intervention in social issues, and targeted “woke” agendas as undermining economic freedoms.

One key disagreement arose when Argentina, under Milei, refused to sign a G20 statement promoting gender equality—a priority for Lula’s administration. Lula’s focus on combating inequality and advancing collective global solutions directly opposes Milei’s preference for market liberalization and minimal government interference. Additionally, Lula has been vocal against far-right politics, aligning this critique with his broader concerns about the risks to democracy posed by leaders like Milei.
